Established in 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, S&L Aerospace Metals, LLC began its journey as a small aerospace precision parts manufacturer. Over the years, the company evolved into a key supplier of hydraulic and mechanical assemblies for renowned aerospace giants such as Grumman Aerospace and Sikorsky Aircraft. Today, S&L is a trusted partner for both commercial and military aerospace markets, serving prominent clients like Boeing, Lockheed, Airbus, and Raytheon. Military
S&L Aerospace Metals is a premier manufacturer of military aerospace components, specializing in hydraulic assemblies, landing gear, and mechanical parts. With our state-of-the-art facility boasting over 30 different machines and dedicated departments for assembly and hydraulic testing, S&L is equipped to meet the stringent demands of the defense aviation industry with precision and reliability.
1947
S&L Aerospace Metals, LLC was founded in 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. The main business was producing bicycle parts. Throughout the 1950’s the focus was changed to small precision parts for the aerospace industry.
1960-1970
S&L grew along with the local defense and commercial industries. During the late 1960’s and early 1970’s S&L became a leading supplier of hydraulic and mechanical assemblies to Grumman Aerospace and Fairchild Republic.This was closely followed by an expansion into Sikorsky Aircraft.
1970-2020
S&L Aerospace evolves into a next-generation supplier for both commercial and military aerospace markets by delivering hard metal, hydraulics, fracture-critical structural parts, machine assemblies, sub-assemblies, and assembly kits. S&L transitioned from a supplier to a fully integrated partner. Exemplified by recent achievements like supplying fully dressed landing gear for Sikorsky Blackhawks.
Present
Today’s customers include Boeing, Goodrich, Messier-Dowty, Parker California, Parker Michigan, Raytheon, Lockheed, Airbus, Derco, Heroux, Devtek and all DLA agencies.
Based on the recent expansion of over 100,000 square feet, S&L is well positioned and prepared to become a new company with expanded capabilities and endowments.
